A few web sites and blogs which are worth looking into:

  • Crunchyroll, who have a good variety of streaming anime available. Subscription is cheap, or else nonsubscribers get ads and have to wait an extra week.
  • Royal Road and Scribblehub, two sites for web novel authors to publish their ramblings.
  • Groklaw, a blog about US legal cases of technological interest. However, Groklaw largely shut down some time ago when it became clear that Email privacy was no longer really an option. If you want some decent commentary on more recent legal issues, you may want to check the YouTube channel…
  • Lawful Masses with Leonard French which carries commentary on a number of recent cases by an actual (US) copyright attorney.
  • Good Old Games (GOG), a site which sells (mostly) older computer games without DRM.
  • Baen Ebooks, a science fiction/fantasy publisher which sells ebooks without DRM. They also have a fairly extensive “Free Library” and monthly packages of their new releases at a substantial discount.
  • The Register, an occasionally tongue-in-cheek web site focusing on technological news.
